This festival of gastronomy, wine and culture is the biggest tourist event in Maribor in the autumn.

The Old Vine Festival is the climax of a cycle of events, from pruning the vine to Saint Martin`s Day, organised in Maribor in honour of the Old Vine, the oldest vine in the world. At the same time it is Maribor`s most important traditional cultural event. The Old Vine Festival is one of the most important festivals in Slovenia linked to the tradition and culture of wine, fruit, genuine cuisine, organic farming, culture and entertainment, and includes a mixture of specialist events and social gatherings.
