Gold Award to the Slovenian pavilion in Shanghai

At the closing ceremony of Expo 2010 in Shanghai, the Slovenian pavilion, which was thematically dedicated to Ljubljana, the World Book Capital, received the Gold Award for Creative Display (interior design) in the C category (pavilions up to 2,000 m2).

At the closing ceremony of Expo 2010 in Shanghai, the Slovenian pavilion, which was thematically dedicated to Ljubljana, the World Book Capital, received the Gold Award for Creative Display (interior design) in the C category (pavilions up to 2,000 m2).

With this prestigious award, Slovenia takes its place alongside some of the most attractive pavilions at the Expo. The winners of the Creative Display Award in the other size categories were Saudi Arabia, Sweden and the Pacific Joint Pavilion.
The theme of Slovenia`s presentation at Expo 2010, which took place in Shanghai from 1 May to 31 October, was the Open Book. The presentation was dedicated to Ljubljana, the current UNESCO World Book Capital. The 1000 m2 pavilion, which fell into the smallest size category, was designed by the architect Boris Podrecca and the artist Matej Andraž Vogrinčič.
