Golte Ski Centre starts the winter season with a new hotel

The mountain tourist resort of Golte nad Mozirjem has embarked on the new winter season with a new four-star Hotel Golte, which is regarded as one of the most modern of the comparable mountain resorts in Slovenia. Golte has combined exceptional natural features with a modern and lively range of tourist services.

The hotel features modern architecture that blends well with the surroundings of this high karstic plateau on the eastern margins of the Savinja Alps, and is situated at an altitude of 1410 metres next to the upper station of the Žekovec cable lift. This is an excellent starting point for skiers, since it is right there at the slopes, and it offers magnificent views of the Savinja Valley, the Savinja Alps and the eastern Karavanke range.

The Hotel Golte offers 52 rooms and 2 apartments (total of 116 beds) as well as everything the visitor needs for complete relaxation, both in the winter and summer months. In addition to the essential hotel and catering facilities, it also offers a modern wellness centre with a range of saunas and a massage salon, a gym, sports shop, ski school, rental and servicing of sports equipment, ski storage and mountain library, plus a conference room that will appeal to business people seeking creative work far from the urban crowds, in a healthy environment of extensive forests – in other words you can enhance business get-togethers with relaxation surrounded by nature, culinary delights and invigorating team-building sessions in the natural environment.

Golte is regarded by plenty of winter sports enthusiasts as one of the loveliest Slovenian ski centres. At an altitude of 1,250 to 1,573 metres, stretching out over 60 hectares of varied terrain are 12 kilometres of groomed, accessible and wide pistes, which are adapted to varying levels of skill, from beginner to expert, and they are also suitable for a wide variety of competitions. The snowy setting of Golte and its surroundings also attract plenty of ski tourers and cross-country skiers. Meanwhile, this 40-year-old established centre is gaining increasing recognition as a summer destination, for active holidays, hiking, cycling, paragliding and exploration.

For the new majority owner, coal-mining subsidiary PV Invest, the hotel marks the completion of its investment activity – from the construction of the road to modernisation of the cable lifts – as well as a completion of the facilities with which Golte, which is best known today as a mountain tourism centre with beautifully groomed ski slopes, will seek to attract visitors throughout the year.
