“Events in Slovenia” brochure is out

The Slovenian Tourist Board has published the brochure “Events in Slovenia”, which is a transparent guidebook of attractive and well established events taking place in Slovenia in 2011 (from April to December). Furthermore, some major international events and championships have been highlighted which will leave their mark in Slovenia the next couple of years.

The Slovenian Tourist Board has published the brochure “Events in Slovenia”, which is a transparent guidebook of attractive and well established events taking place in Slovenia in 2011 (from April to December). Furthermore, some major international events and championships have been highlighted which will leave their mark in Slovenia the next couple of years.

In 2011, a great many events will take place in Slovenia upon the occasion of Slovenia’s 20th birthday, which will be united under the invitation “Homecoming”. In 2012, Maribor will be the European Capital of Culture and in 2013, Slovenia will be the proud host of the European Basketball Championship for men. Furthermore, there will be countless events in Slovenia throughout the year that will contribute greatly to experiencing and feeling Slovenia.

Below, we would like to mention only a few internationally renowned events:

- World Rowing Championships (Bled, 28 August – 4 September 2011)
- 5th International Wild Flower Festival (Bohinj, 21 May – 4 June 2011)
- Internautica International Boat Show (Portorož, 10 May – 15 May 2011)
- Festival LENT 2011 – 19th International Summer (Maribor, 24 June – 9 July 2011)
- Ljubljana Festival (59th Ljubljana Summer) (Ljubljana, July–August)
- 29th Biennial of Graphic Arts (Ljubljana, 23 September – 20 November 2011)
