Portorož to hold 16th INTERNAUTICA International Boat Show

The INTERNAUTICA International Boat Show is the Adriatic`s most significant marine lifestyle event with a long tradition, held every year in May in Portorož, at the Marina. It has a strong influence on purchasing and strategic decision-making in the nautical industry market. This year it will take place from 10-15 May.

With its long tradition, Internautica has undoubtedly surpassed the borders of the nation and is held in great esteem throughout Europe and most recently, also around the world. Each year, more than 250 specialized exhibitors participate, including well over 30,000 visitors from Slovenia and its neighbouring countries. The show stretches over 28,000 square metres of indoor and outdoor space. It attracts many distinguished international guests, from yachting professionals, designers, entrepreneurs, maritime law experts to maritime enthusiasts. The sales results of the Boat Show are always impressive.

Traditional events accompanying the Boat Show are the Annual INTERNAUTICA Regatta, as well as the ever amusing traditional Oldtimer parade of old time vessels and vintage cars. Other aspects of the INTERNAUTICA programme include many expert meetings, seminars, conferences, maritime exhibitions with artwork by renowned Slovenian artists, as well as sporting events provided for all visitors at the Portorož Marina venue. The INTERNAUTICA gala evening also has to be mentioned, where the awards for Boat of the Year and other prestigious titles are presented. Each year all the registered exhibitors of the show compete with their programmes for the awards in the following categories: Sport Motor Boats, Sailing Boats, Motor Yachts and Nautical Project of the Year. The winners are selected by visitors and a special jury, composed of nautical experts.

Last year, the organisers of Internautica also organised a sales fair for new and used vessels and nautical equipment for the first time in autumn and Autumn Weekend Boat Show will also be repeated in 2011. From 15 to 18 September 2011, the Portorož Marina will again become an important meeting point of nautical lovers, who will be able to get plenty of information on the upcoming nautical season already in autumn. With this event, the organisers wish to contribute to the improvement of the nautical market in Slovenia and encourage exhibitors to also participate successfully in the future.
