Koper is richer for the new Histria Hostel

The Slovenian coastal town of Koper has enriched its offer for young travellers. At the very heart of the old city centre, in a typical, renovated Istrian house, the Histria Hostel opened its doors, boasting a great location and good prices, as well as a good starting point for discovering Koper and the rest of the Slovenian coast.

The new hostel is an important addition to Koper’s accommodation for young people. Its offer includes a shared kitchen for preparing food and warm beverages, free Internet access in the shared areas of reception and a bar in the neighbouring building. The price of stay also includes bedding. 16 beds are available in two mixed dorms (2 x 8 beds) and 18 beds in three more mixed dorms (3 x 6 beds). Check-in time is between 2PM and 10PM, and the checkout is between 9AM and noon.

With its historical city centre, Koper is said to be one of the most picturesque parts of the northern Istrian peninsula, where the façade and the interior of the buildings reveal a thousand-year history of Koper, Iustinopolis, Capris, the Venetian Republic, and the golden age of the Gothic and Renaissance periods. Along with the old coastal town of Piran, Izola and its rich fishing tradition, and Portorož as the cradle of Central European tourism, today a tourist centre with a modern hotel, wellness and conference offer and numerous events, Koper is a well-rounded destination of experience tourism allowing for the discovery of the hinterland of Istria. In addition, Koper is becoming a destination for guests from cruise ships, because it provides city tours of Koper and is an excellent starting point for discovering Slovenia.
