Perhaps you would like to spend your New Year’s Eve marked by roses at Kempinski Palace Hotel in Portorož? Did you know that Portorož, when translated from its Italian name Portorose, means a Port of Flowers or, more precisely, a Port of Roses and that this fall, Portorož became richer with a rose carrying the name of Portorož? It was planted upon the occasion of World Tourism Day at the Portorož flower garden and it was bred over the period of seven years especially for the town of Portorož at the place of Thomas Proll, a German rose breeder of the Kordes company – the variety carrying the name Portorož will be officially registered at the beginning of 2012 and will continue to decorate numerous gardens and parks in Portorož.

Numerous other providers in Portorož, Piran, Koper, Izola and Strunjan have also prepared their enticing Christmas-New Year offers for you – for various tastes and financial capabilities. You can celebrate New Year’s Eve in the surroundings of a hotel or you can visit the town squares and streets of agreeable coastal towns. There will be action everywhere!
