Colin Heal, the president of the Travel Network Group: "The Travel Network Group is happy that Bled was selected as the location for the conference in May 2013. Numerous countries wanted to host the event; however, we were especially enchanted by Bled`s beauty, the kindness of the people and friendliness of Bled`s tourist workers. Moreover, we are also happy about the support from the STB, its office in Great Britain and its headquarters in Slovenia, and the support of the Slovenian Embassy in London."

Besides the business benefits, the conference also represents media attention, both domestic and foreign for Slovenia and Bled. Tine Murn, the head of the information office of the Slovenian Tourist Board in London said: "The selection of Slovenia and Bled for the 2013 conference represents an important move for the Travel Network Group and for Slovenian tourism. Guests from Great Britain have already traditionally been important for Slovenian tourism and I am convinced that the conference in Bled will connect Slovenian and British tourism even further."

Last year, Slovenian tourist destinations recorded a 3% increase of British arrivals, while 1% more overnight stays were generated. The most overnight stays in Slovenia are generated by British guests in mountain municipalities (61%), while the highest growth has been recorded in spa municipalities (+17%). In the research study `The Image of Slovenia`, British respondents mostly connected Slovenia with friendliness of the people, natural beauties, mountains and Lake Bled.

With this conference, Bled, which has been frequently on the covers of catalogues of British travel organisers as one of the most representative icons for the product `Lakes and Mountains`, as well as the entire region of the Julian Alps will further strengthen their place as the main Slovenian icons for British tourists.
