EuroBasket – not only see a game, but also discover Slovenia

The Palma tourist agency, as the official agency of the European Championship, is fully preparing itself for the basketball highlight of the year, EuroBasket, which will take place in Ljubljana and three other Slovenian towns between 4 and 22 September. Interest for arrangements by foreign tourist agencies is high, while the comprehensive tourist services hope to satisfy as many wishes and demands of guests as possible.

On the basis of the rich experience – in the role of partner of the Basketball Association of Slovenia and as a player in the tourist industry, the Palma tourist agency has, for the period of EuroBasket 2013, prepared a comprehensive and carefully prepared tourist offer for groups and individual guests who will visit Slovenia during the Championship.

Programs have been adjusted for visiting either the first or second part of the Championship or the entire event; packages include, besides accommodation and tickets for games, also the possibility of transfers, attractive additional excursions around Slovenia, car rental, etc.

According to Marko Sikur, the official EuroBasket 2013 tourist agency representative, the first reservations have already been booked, while the booking of packages and additional services has been possible since February through the Palma website. The indicated website will also include all updated information with regard to the events, the venues and the Championship itself.

How are the sales of tickets for individual games going? Ticket sales have begun strongly with nearly half of the tickets to games that have gone on sale already having been snapped up. Ticket sales to the final and second semi-final have been particularly strong with over half of all tickets already sold whilst the sales of tickets to the quarter-finals and second semi also remain strong. Online sales to the gold medal game have already been exhausted, with the only remaining tickets available to the pinnacle game of the tournament can be purchased at Petrol stations throughout Slovenia.

EuroBasket 2013 director, Ales Kriznar, has been impressed with the strength of the sales to date, considering the first tickets only went on sale on 18 March, whilst the quarter-final and classification games for 5th to 8th place tickets became available on 25 March. The tickets can be purchased online from Eventim.
