Venues and schedules of the first, second and final rounds

The first round of the European Basketball Championship 2013 will be played in four different venues (four different groups). Group A will play in Ljubljana. Matches for Group B will be played in Jesenice. Group C will compete in Celje, while Group D will play in Koper. The second and final round of the European Basketball Championship 2013 will be played in Ljubljana alone.

The first round of the European Basketball Championship 2013 will be played in four different venues (four different groups). Group A will play in Ljubljana. Matches for Group B will be played in Jesenice. Group C will compete in Celje, while Group D will play in Koper. The second and final round of the European Basketball Championship 2013 will be played in Ljubljana alone.

FIRST ROUND September 4 – 9, 2013
Venues: Ljubljana, Celje, Jesenice, Koper

LJUBLJANA, Group A:
Ukraine, Great Britain, France, Germany, Israel, Belgium (Ljubljana will host the European Basketball Championship 2013 in two sports halls – Hala Tivoli during the 1st round and Stožice Arena in the 2nd and final round).

The Dvorana Tivoli sports hall, which seats approximately 5,800 people, is located on the edge of Tivoli, Ljubljana`s largest park, 1.5 kilometres (a good 15-minute walk) from the centre of the city. The Stožice Sports Park Arena, part of a new sports complex designed to the latest standards, seats approximately 13,000 people. It is located in the Stožice area of Ljubljana, 4 kilometres (a good 45-minute walk) from the centre of the city.

JESENICE, Group B: Bosnia and Hercegovina, Lithuania, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Latvia (in Jesenice, the Championship matches will be played at the Podmežakla Ice Hockey Hall.

The Dvorana Podmežakla sports hall seats approximately 5,400 people. To access Jesenice, located 60 kilometres from Ljubljana, follow the A2 motorway in the direction of Kranj. The town is also accessible by train and bus).

CELJE, Group C: Poland, Slovenia, Spain, Croatia, Czech Republic, Georgia (in Celje, the Championship matches will be played at Zlatorog Hall).

The Dvorana Zlatorog sports hall, situated in the town`s shopping area, seats approximately 5,500 people. To access Celje, located 75 kilometres from Ljubljana, follow the A1 motorway in the direction of Maribor. The town is also accessible by train and bus.

KOPER, Group D: Finland, Greece, Russia, Italy, Sweden, Turkey (in Koper, matches will be played at the Bonifika Hall).

The Športna dvorana Bonifika sports hall, situated in the immediate vicinity of the town centre, seats approximately 5,000 people. To access Koper, located 107 kilometres from Ljubljana, follow the A1 motorway. The town is also accessible by train and bus.

SECOND ROUND: 11 – 16 September 2013
Venue: Ljubljana

FINAL ROUND: 18 – 22 September, 2013
Venue: Ljubljana

The second and final round of the European Basketball Championship 2013 will be played in Ljubljana alone. The Stožice Arena awaits. Come and feel basketball!
