Less than two months before EuroBasket 2013 euphoria rises

EuroBasket 2013 - the biggest sporting event in the history of independent Slovenia is less than two months away. Tickets for the first round of EuroBasket went on sale on the 1st July and the official video of the anthem of the championship is now publicly available. The underlying theme of the video is Slovenian fans, the winners of the "I Feel Basketball" competition. The video wants to show the euphoria before the championship and stress the important contribution of Slovenian fans to the success of the team and the championship. The new issue of the EuroBasket 2013 Magazine is also about to be published very soon.

Tickets for the first round of the championship are on sale from the beginning of July
Tickets for the first round of the championship started selling on the 1st of July at the Eventim web page. Tickets with a tourist offer (accommodation and the possibility of additional tourist visits) are still available at Palma, which is an Official Travel Agency of EuroBasket 2013, as well as the tickets for all other rounds of the championship.

The Local Organising Committee of the EuroBasket 2013 presented the outlook of the EuroBasket 2013 ticket in the last third of June. The ticket is designed in line with a graphical image of the championship and is placed in a special fold that features the schedule of the games.

The night before Slovenian Statehood day, on 24th June, the Local Organising Committee published an official video with the EuroBasket 2013 anthem which is interpreted by one of the most established Slovenian singers and songwriters, Zoran Predin, and by a young Slovenian band CoverLover.

The main theme of the video is Slovenian fans, the winners of the "I Feel Basketball" competition, who were the stars of the fan`s day when they got to know how it feels to be a Slovenian national team player. The video makers wanted to underline the importance of Slovenian fans for the success of the team and the championship and wanted to show that they hold a special status there and that it feels really nice to cheer for Slovenia – the Slovenian team will play in Group C in Celje against Spain, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Georgia and Poland. Being a fan in Slovenia is also a special experience for visitors from abroad. The message of the video thus wants to capture the expectations and euphoria in the last few months before the start of the biggest sporting event in the history of independent Slovenia.

The video was filmed at three locations - in the Plaza hotel in Ljubljana, in the legendary hall Ježice and on the Ljubljanica river. A fan`s day begins with a meeting for the selected fans in a hotel and ends with a game in a basketball hall. In the meantime the video features Zoran Predin and the CoverLover band sailing down the Ljubljanica river through the city of Ljubljana which will be hosting the championship for the whole three weeks. The video thus symbolically draws the path to the EuroBasket which is less than two months away.
