The largest gourmet event so far in the Alpe Adria region – The Taste Festival in Slovenia – is coming to an end. It took place in Slovenia from 24 September to 8 October and in Croatia between 10 and 24 September. It has united more than 300 restaurants and other catering facilities in Slovenia, Croatia, Friuli-Venezia Giulia and Carinthia under its patronage.

The program was open in nature and, during the festival, the participating restaurants offered a special discount (up to 50 percent) to promote their culinary pleasures. Moreover, the festival offered the possibility of meeting top-level chefs and enologists, while the participants had the pleasure of enjoying various tastings and seeing numerous cooking shows. The mission of the festival is to provide to a wide circle of gourmets the possibility of getting to know new tastes, restaurants, chefs and other creators from the area of cuisine. The festival products were enjoyed by everyone who had a festival discount card.

The Taste Festival 2013 was organized by Restaurant Club, integrating gourmets and those who seek unique pleasure in other areas; it has more than 25,000 supporters, while cooperating with more than 250 caterers from the Alpe Adria region.

But the gourmet events in Slovenia are not over yet. Between 12 and 20 October, the Week of Slovenian Restaurants will take place in Slovenia – a gastronomic event that was organised last year within the framework of the European Capital of Culture; since the event gained a lot of attention, it will be repeated this year. During nine days, the best Slovenian restaurants will offer selected menus with three courses for the set price of 13 EUR. The project will include restaurants that the Slovenian culinary critic Uroš Mencinger rated with a grade of at least 4. The list of restaurants and their menus can be found here.
