Green Slovenia is a land of water. Not only can you make a toast with clean fresh water throughout the entire country, Slovenia also has over twenty natural thermal springs with a temperature ranging from 18 to 38 degrees. Even the ancient Romans knew and praised the beneficial effects of Slovenian springs. Today you can convince yourself of the therapeutic properties of Slovenian waters in numerous thermal health resorts and spas, which are among the best in Europe. Get a treatment with mud wraps and baths or try new detox programmes in combination with natural thermal water. Spring is the best time for body cleansing.

This season, Rogaška Slatina offers special 3 or 7-day detox and cleansing programmes. At Grand Hotel Sava and Zagreb Hotel experts will give advice on how to cleanse your body with healing mineral water, make changes to your diet and choose the right kind of wellness pampering.

Detoxification is also carried out at Moravci Thermal Spa. At Vivat Spa they have prepared four programmes to accelerate the removal of harmful substances from the body and hence improve its energy balance. The programmes last up to seven days.

Another popular option alongside detox treatments are balneo treatments with healing mud found near the springs. Natural thermal water has many therapeutic effects on its own, but enriched with mud, fragrances, herbs and natural aromas, it can become even more beneficial.

Most of the natural spas are located in Eastern Slovenia, with the most powerful mineral waters being Radenska from the thermal spring in Radenci and Donat Mg from the thermal spring in Rogaška Slatina. The latter contains over 1000 mg of magnesium per litre, which ranks it among the top mineral waters in the world. Legend has it that even the mythological winged horse Pegasus drank from the Rogaška springs on the recommendation of Apollo, the god of sun and medicine.
