New York Times and Huffington Post Love Slovenia

The Slovenian capital Ljubljana is becoming increasingly attractive to tourists. Visitors are impressed by the efforts of hoteliers, and the foreign media pay more and more attention to Ljubljana`s tourist facilities. Two of the more important recent articles were the New York Times` review of the Vander Hotel, and the Huffington Post`s list of "The 12 Most Awesome Hostels in the World," which included Hostel Celica.

The boutique hotel Vander is located in the lively old city centre of Ljubljana. Discover the love story that led to the construction of the hotel right on the spot where the hotel owners – a Slovenian and an Australian – first kissed. The designer hotel, an increasingly popular gathering place in the centre of Ljubljana, will delight you with it’s carefully selected luxury furnishings and the pool on the roof. The hotel`s restaurant is one of the best in the city and offers exquisite culinary delights from the hands of a French chef. Apart from this year`s New York Times review, the hotel also received attention from the Condé Nast Traveller magazine, which selected it as one of the best 154 hotels in the world in 2013.

Hostel Celica, ranked among The 12 Most Awesome Hostels in the World by the Huffington Post, was also recommended by Lonely Planet as the "No. 1 hippiest hostel in the world." Have you ever spent a night behind bars in a prison that dates back more than a hundred years? This has been made possible Hostel Celica, a stylishly revamped former prison designed by different established artists. Behind the bars of each former prison cell starts a new world of decorations, selected design and paintings. There is also a quiet hangout room called "Point of Peace" – it is the building`s only cell without bars which now has six themed "niches," each dedicated to a world religion. The hostel is located just next to the vibrant cultural centre Metelkova mesto.
