The British press celebrates the seasons of Slovenia

The popular British newspaper the Daily Telegraph has published an attractive article on Slovenia, focusing on the Walk of Peace from the Alps to the Adriatic, a century after the Isonzo Front. The web portal of the traveller`s guide Rough Guides were excited about Bled, choosing a panorama of the lake for their Twitter profile.

A journalist for one of the leading British publications, the Daily Telegraph, published in the travel insert an extensive article on Slovenia, where he was on vacation with his family. The article, entitled Slovenia: a Modern Ruritania at the Crossroads of Modern Europe, presented Slovenia as a diverse microcosm, bestowed with mountains and the sea, and its author was most impressed with the western part of the country. The article highlights the heritage and magnitude of the Isonzo front, and the author was also captivated by the numerous natural attractions – from the magnificent Julian Alps, the pristine emerald Soča river, Lakes Bled and Bohinj, and Brda, which he dubbed "Slovenian Tuscany".

Another testament to the fact that Slovenia is becoming more and more of a presence in British social media is that the Rough Guides travel portal chose a panorama of Bled for its Twitter profile @RoughGuides. What is more is that, for instance the editors of Rough Guides, owned by the Penguin Group, have in the case of Slovenia begun introducing the concept of web destination presentations. The concept of the Four Seasons of Slovenia is the product of collaboration between the SPIRIT public agency in London and the PR agency A. Marr PR. This winter a journalist from the Penguin Group visited Slovenia and wrote an article about winter destinations, and in the spring, another journalist came, this time focusing on excursions with a springy colour.
