The Argentinian FOX Life team filming in Slovenia

A team from the Argentinian FOX Life was recently on a visit in Slovenia. Argentinian culinary star Narda Lepes has been putting together shows on what is on offer in Slovenia, with an emphasis on cuisine, for a new show Unwritten Tour: The Balkans. This show will comprise 30 episodes, 4 to 5 of which will focus on Slovenia.

In certain episodes, Narda herself will get to know Slovenian cuisine, highlighting some Slovenian culinary accomplishments. On her visit to Slovenia, she met master chef Ana Roš who is responsible for the heavenly cuisine on offer at Hiša Franko and is known as one of the best chefs in Slovenia and Europe. Narda visited Gostilna pri Kuklju in Velike Lašče, baking a proper Slovenian potica with ethnologist and Slovenian gastronomic expert Janez Bogataj, and also made buckwheat žlikrofi at Rupa in Bohinj. The team, which visited a good portion of Slovenia, was also impressed with Postojna Cave. At this landmark of global acclaim, Narda did not cook, but it was, as they said, a reward for the team`s job well done.

Another culinary star recently visited Slovenia. Dutch chef and author of many cookbooks Rudolph Van Veen, who hosts 4 shows on 24kitchen , paid his second visit to Slovenia. At the residence of Dutch ambassador Pieter Jan Langenberg, the 47-year old chef met with select guests, finalists of the Impress Rudolph competition, as well as representatives from the press. He did not hide his excitement about Slovenian cuisine. On the contrary, he really loves it. He says that too few people know Slovenian gastronomy, which is why he devoted a whole episode to it, saying: "I tried my hand at Slovenian potica. I have to admit that my creations did not turn out nearly as good as those that I have tasted here. That is why I directed all viewers to visit, as they can only taste real Slovenian food in Slovenia. The popular Rudolph is convinced that people in Slovenia and further south in the Balkans make the best tomato and pepper sauce he has ever tried.
