Dreams in the hills of Medana and Šmartno

Western Slovenia promises a real festive spirit in Brda! At the end of August, during the summer festival Dreams, the village of Medana will welcome visitors to a celebration of books and wine, while the idyllic village of Šmartno among green hills of Brda will transform into a real village of enchantment. During the festival, you will be able to enjoy Fantazija Ekspress, a travelling bookshop and a stage on wheels. Join us and greet the summer in Brda!

Between 27 and 31 August you can dare to dream big in lovely Brda. August is the time of Dreams, a summer festival full of imagination and creativity with a 12-year tradition. Brda is also a land of invigorating intoxicating moments, as wine producers are especially good at combining wine and art. Visitors can experience tastings in wine cellars, where the barrels and the walls have become a playground for supreme artists. In Medana, a wine-growing village with a rich tradition of culture, August will bring various literary events, tastings of quality Brda wines, and a number of concerts. At the same time, Šmartno, a medieval village amidst green hills in the geographical centre of Brda, will become a fairy tale during the festival. One can listen to storytellers, view the attractive fairy-tale related exhibitions and attend a number of workshops for children. Evenings are usually dedicated to poetry, prose, and music. Welcome to Gradnik`s home under the mulberry, where the poetry of the most famous Brda poet Alojz Gradnik is still very much alive!
