Persimmon Festival in Strunjan

November is the ideal time to enjoy the sweetness of the Slovenian littoral. The smell of this healing divine fruit will be surrounding Strunjan from 14 to 16 November when we celebrate the festival of persimmon, the food of gods, which has been successfully grown in Slovenia for a long time.

Strunjan hosts the persimmon festival from 14 to 16 November. The majority of Slovenian persimmon groves are located in this valley. The growing of the food of gods or the golden apple, as the persimmon is sometimes referred to, has a long tradition, as the mild climate and fertile soil ensure quality produce. The festival is accompanied by a broad range of events that liven up Strunjan as the village of persimmon. These delicious fruits are exhibited and sold fresh or as an ingredient of culinary specialties. Do not miss the competition for the biggest persimmon of Strunjan!

This two-day sweet event hosts many interesting lectures as well as exhibitions of literary and art works. This lovely littoral town in the green part of the Slovenian coast also offers rich entertainment and cultural programmes as well as culinary experiences.
