Do not expect an ordinary museum experience, but a vigorous and educational invitation to a living path of genuine feelings for the hop growing and brewing industry.

The history and life of Savinja hop growers are on exhibit at the Eco-Museum, where visitors can stroll through the social life of the diligent female hop pickers and the importance of large and small hop growers. The experience gives visitors an insight into the everyday life of hard-working people, their work and the influence of the hop on life in the region. After getting to know the hoppy identity of the Savinjska Region, one realizes that Slovenia is one of the world`s largest hop growers.

At different locations of hop farms around the region, where hop growing still guides and defines their daily routine, hop technology is on display, while the technology itself can be seen in the experimental hop gardens of the Slovenian Institute for Hop Research and Brewing, right in the neighbourhood of the Eco-Museum building and on hop farms.

An unforgettable experience is also the Hops Trail. A 14 km long road that starts and ends at the Eco-Museum, which leads through unique views over the hop fields boasting in the light of the day, the nature reserve and sanctuary for 170 species of birds, as well as a Roman necropolis. On vast cultivated fields, the vigorous hops tirelessly grow their roots deep into the soil, while their green climbers reach towards the sky.
