Maribor, the second largest city is Slovenia is richer with a new nano-touristic agency. One of the most multi-sensory adventures is a guided tour of Maribor wearing a blindfold. Young designers have created a special tourist bureau, which they have called Rajzefiber biro (Travel fever bureau), in a former florist shop, and in an innovative way combined the travel experience with an artistic touch. At this year`s international Biennial of Industrial Design BIO 50, Rajzefiber bureau received the main award for the best cooperation within the scope of the biennial.

The Rajzefiber bureau is a nanotouristic agency, specialised in an informal and personal approach to tourism. The convenient bureau can be transformed into a concert venue, store or anything else. It also connects the general public with the residents of Maribor`s old town centre and encourages all those living in Maribor to be involved in determining the quality of life in the city. The term nanotourism is used to describe the creative critique of the fast growing tourism industry.

And now to the famous multi-sensory adventure in Maribor. You will also discover a multi senses adventure in the bureau – a unique guided tour of Maribor wearing a blindfold. In this non-classical experience visitors are blindfolded and taken around Maribor in the company of a guide. Visitors smell, sense and touch the city. The young designers have also successfully combined the tourist experience with art. In the Rajzefiber bureau they are currently exchanging their recognisable red shoelace for travellers` old shoelaces and their experiences from recent travels. At the conclusion of this "shoelace exchange", they will prepare an exhibition and a travel wish list.

Maribor, the European Capital of Culture in 2012, retains a creative touch. The innovative bureau, which came to being under the watchful eye of a tourism expert and two aspiring students of architecture, joined up with the voluntary program - Association for people and spaces Hiša!, which in Maribor is already involved in helping to create Courtyards alive, Knowledge polygons and the Centre for graphic art.

Nanotourism could be observed at the Cultural Centre of European Space Technologies (KSEVT) in Vitanje, not far from Maribor. Within the framework of the international summer school of architecture, AA Visiting School Slovenia, they dealt with the topic of nanotourism. The KSEVT building has also received the highest professional acclaim in Slovenia and is the work of four of the most prominent Slovenian architectural bureaus. A real masterpiece! Here, in contrast to other similar centres, you can learn about the two poles of space discovery: scientific - technical as well as artistic - humanistic.
