This year, Slovenia expects more visitors from Germany and Sweden, as the Slovenian national carrier Adria Airways introduces two new routes from Ljubljana to Berlin and Stockholm at the end of March 2015. With more than 181 flights per week, Ljubljana is already connected with more than twenty destinations. The German market has always been one of the most important foreign markets for Slovenia with respect to tourist arrivals, while Scandinavian guests feel good in green, healthy and active Slovenia; as such identity is tailored to their character.

Adria Airways will fly to Stockholm twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The first flight to the Swedish capital is scheduled for 23 April 2015, while Berlin, where routes are scheduled for Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, will be connected to Ljubljana on 24 April 2015. The summer season will be just perfect for all admirers of Belgium and France. Adria Airways will start flying Tirana-Brussels and Tirana-Paris routes at the end of this month; Tirana will be connected with the Belgian and French capitals on Tuesdays and Saturdays. New adventures are also waiting for passengers in London and Manchester, where passengers will be flown twice a week by Adria Airways pilots.

The company Fraport, which is the new owner of Aerodrom Ljubljana considers the Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport to be an airport that can provide great adventures to domestic and foreign passengers. It not only serves the market and connects the world with Slovenia, an attractive tourist destination, but it also offers economic and political stability. The latter should also constitute a basis for the further development of passenger and freight traffic. Thus, it should come as no surprise that new routes will now connect Ljubljana airport with many attractive European capitals.

Mark Anžur, Chairman of the Board of Adria Airways, is convinced that the enhancement of connections between Ljubljana and other European countries as a new strategy is of great importance not only for Adria Airways but also for Ljubljana airport. “After Frankfurt and Munich, Berlin will be the third Germany city to be directly connected with Ljubljana. This is an important step towards cooperation with Germany, which is the largest economic partner of Slovenia; at the same time, it is considered the key partner in terms of ensuring a good connection on the tourist market,” said Anžur, adding that Adria Airways, with its more than fifty years of experience in chartered and regularly scheduled flights, aims to present Slovenia to foreigners as an attractive and interesting tourist destination. He is convinced that successful cooperation with the SPIRIT Slovenia public agency, tourism division and the Visit Ljubljana public institute will create a remarkable success story. In close cooperation, they launched an advertising campaign that will reach foreign markets in March. Among other things, they created attractive websites on which photos and shorter stories present Slovenia, while visitors are allowed access to interesting and selected information about the capital city of Ljubljana.
