A winter wellness wonderland

Green, active, and healthy Slovenia is interwoven with natural springs of both thermal and mineral water. The benefits of these thermal and mineral waters were enjoyed already by the Romans, as well as other European monarchies. Slovenia treats visitors with a combination of winter activities in the snow and wellness, offering them both an active way to spend time in nature, as well as preventive care for their health.

The attractive natural treasures, the rich spa tradition, the world-class wellness programs, and the winter atmosphere combine to make a true winter wonderland, whose story is about an active and healthy Slovenia. The spas offer a wide range of beneficial effects from the thermal and mineral waters, while the surroundings are perfect for an active break in nature. Choose from among 15 natural spas, numerous wellness centres, kilometres of groomed ski slopes and hiking trails, or just enjoy yourself in the stunning views of the snow-capped mountains.

Several of the wellness centres are located right by the ski resorts, so skiers can take advantage of the programs of relaxation and regeneration after a hard day on the slopes. At Kranjska Gora in the Gorenjska region, a world-renowned ski town, you can relax at the HIT Alpinea wellness centre. You can also visit Terme Snovik near Krvavec ski resort. Under Vogel ski resort you will find the Aquapark Bohinj, while under Mariborsko Pohorje you can surrender to the pampering of Alpine Wellness Centre Bolfenk, Fontana Medicinal Recreational Centre, SPA centre Habakuk in Maribor, or the nearby Terme Ptuj. Right near Terme Zreče you can ski on the white slopes of Rogla, or Golte, close to Thermana Laško, where you can indulge in therapeutic beer baths.

Slovenian thermal springs stretch from the Pannonian plain, throughout the Štajerska and Dolenjska wine growing hills, all the way out to the Slovenian coast. To feel the health benefits of sea water and air, salt, and sea mud, visit the Talaso Strunjan spa or the older Terme & Wellness LifeClass, whose health services also include ancient practices from the Far East.

Younger guests will love Terme Čatež, the biggest thermal pool complex in Slovenia. The warmest waters are found at Terme Olimia, with the largest selection of saunas in Slovenia. The newest thermal baths are in Ptuj, while the baths with the longest tradition are Terme Dobrna, followed by Dolenjske toplice. You will find the finest springs of potable mineral water at Terme Radenci and the Rogaška Health Resort. Dive into the most colourful springs with green reflections at Terme Lendava, right near Terme 3000 Moravske Toplice, where you can swim in its unique black thermal water. You will find the best alpine atmosphere and mountain air at Terme Topolšica, while Terme Šmarješke Toplice offers a unique swimming experience.

All the spas offer a variety of nature activities and, in cooperation with ski resorts and sports centres, a wide array of ways to spend free time actively, helping to make Slovenia itself active and healthy. Each spa has its own unique features which combine to tell a tale of a winter wonderland of exceptional wellness programs.
