October saw 12% more tourist arrivals

The data for October 2014 show that 12% more tourist arrivals and 6% more overnight stays were recorded than in October 2013. The number of foreign tourist arrivals increased by 11% and the number of their overnight stays by 5%. The highest numbers of overnight stays were recorded by spa municipalities. Most foreign tourists came from Austria, Italy and Germany. In first ten months of this year, a 6% increase in the number of foreign tourist arrivals and a 1% increase in the number of overnight stays were recorded in comparison to the same period last year.

The data for October 2014 show that 12% more tourist arrivals and 6% more overnight stays were recorded than in October 2013. The number of foreign tourist arrivals increased by 11% and the number of their overnight stays by 5%. The highest numbers of overnight stays were recorded by spa municipalities. Most foreign tourists came from Austria, Italy and Germany. In first ten months of this year, a 6% increase in the number of foreign tourist arrivals and a 1% increase in the number of overnight stays were recorded in comparison to the same period last year.

Most tourist overnight stays in spa municipalities

In October 2014, the highest number of tourist overnight stays was recorded by spa municipalities (36% of all overnight stays), followed by coastal municipalities (20% of all overnight stays), mountain municipalities (17% of all overnight stays, i.e. a 19% increase in comparison to the previous year) and the Municipality of Ljubljana, which recorded 13% of all overnight stays, which represents a 6% increase in comparison to the same period last year.

Most overnight stays in hotels

In October 2014, the highest number of tourist overnight stays was recorded by hotels (74%), followed by camps (6%), apartments and holiday resorts (5%).

Almost a third of foreign tourist overnight stays were generated by Austrian and Italian guests

In October 2014, foreign tourists generated 60% of all tourist overnight stays in Slovenia. Key markets, from which most overnight stays of foreign tourists in Slovenia were recorded in October 2014, were: Austria (18%), Italy (14%), Germany (11%), the Russian Federation (5%) and Croatia (5%). In terms of overnight stays of tourists from more important tourist markets, the number of overnight stays of Austrian tourists increased by 11% in October 2014 and the number of overnight stays of Italian tourists by 7% in comparison to October 2013.

In the first ten months of 2014 the number of tourist arrivals increased by 3%

In the period from January to October 2014, the number of tourist arrivals increased by 3%. In this period, a 6% increase in the number of foreign tourist arrivals and a 1% increase in the number of overnight stays were recorded in comparison to the same period last year.
