Visit Ljubljana, European Green Capital 2016 and the only town awarded twice for the European Mobility Week.

The assessment and selection of the most sustainable destinations is an international incentive to spread and speed up sustainable tourism. It originated under the auspices of Green Destinations, TravelMole.com, Vision on Sustainable Tourism and Totem Tourism. The expert partner and adviser this time was the Global Sustainable Tourism Council. Have you visited Ljubljana, which is the 2016 European Green Capital yet?

Set out for a stroll around the city centre past the famous Triple Bridge. Not that long ago, buses and cars were passing by, but today this popular meeting point is a promenade closed for traffic. Discovering Ljubljana by the BicikeLj bike is also pleasant. Turn the pedals on one of the 360 city bikes available at 36 locations across the capital. Chat with a true gentleman - Kavalir and join him in an electric vehicle for a free and environmentally friendly ride through the streets of the city centre.

The green areas of Tivoli Park are located near the town’s river, the Ljubljanica River. Spice up your day by visiting an open exhibition on Jakopič Promenade, climb the Rožnik Hill or treat yourself to a picnic under treetops. Take your waste to a waste container area and contribute to the green and sustainable image of Ljubljana.
