In spring, Slovenia discards its white blanket and colours itself in various shades of green. The nature awakens and the asparagus season kicks off. Asparagus has its own month lasting in April and May. Taste the delicious and healthy culinary masterpieces from the Slovenian Istria and the Karst! The warm months are also perfect for numerous outdoor activities. On 12 April, join the multitude of runners at the Istrian Marathon.

Almost every kitchen in Primorska and on the Karst smells of fresh asparagus during the spring months. Did you know that asparagus is a natural aphrodisiac, which protects the heart and veins with its vitamins and minerals? The traditional Asparagus month takes place in April and May on the Karst. During that month, numerous restaurants prepare special menus whose main ingredient is Slovenian asparagus. In addition to the excellent culinary offer, the Asparagus Month is diversified by numerous hikes, the herb and delicacy fair, as well as cultural and culinary events.

After a meal, an exercise or two is well worthwhile. Put on your running shoes and run into nature. Running is one of the most convenient forms of recreation and a very popular form of exercising in Slovenia. Join the multitude of runners at the, and enjoy the beautiful views between Koper and Piran. There is nothing more beautiful than tackling kilometres by the sea! Compete in a recreational 10-kilometre run, half-marathon (21 km) or marathon (42 km) between Izola, Koper, Portorož and Piran.
