Open Kitchen, the popular culinary event in the heart of Ljubljana every Friday between March and October, attracts numerous fans of various cuisines of the world. The air is full of the beautiful aromas of local, Slovenian cuisine and many foreign specialties. Give your palate a treat!

Preparations for the third Open Kitchen are in full swing. At the event, you will be served delicious dishes spiced up with a great deal of creativity and uniqueness. Treat yourself to the taste of Kranjska sausage, the famous carski praženec (shredded pancake), many original Slovenian cakes, all the way to Argentinean steaks, Thai specialties and curry risottos. Variegate world flavours with a glass of refreshing lemonade, quality Slovenian wine or a mug of Slovenian beer.

You can feel the vibe of Open Kitchen in winter too, when the preparations for the March opening are taking place. A special book on Open Kitchen has been published for lovers of international cuisine and culinary masterpieces which contains a collection of recipes presented in Pogačar Square, the venue of Open Kitchen, in past years. Put on an apron and a chef’s hat and turn into a master of Slovenian and international specialities.

Open Kitchen was already a success in its premiere season. At the Days of Slovenian Tourism in October 2014, the project received the Sejalec Award for the most innovative Slovenian tourism product in the last two years. At the Alpe-Adria: Tourism and Leisure fair, the project received the international Jakob Award for excellence and quality in tourism in the Alpe-Adria region. Since its beginnings, the project has become a street food trend in the Slovenian capital.
