In February and March, Slovenia will host numerous world competitions. Join the plenitude of fans and cheer for your sport idol and best winter athletes in the world! Add momentum to ski jumpers and speed to skiers so that they can achieve top results. The Golden Fox (the Maribor Pohorje) is scheduled to take place on 21 and 22 February, while the Vitranc Cup (Kranjska Gora) is scheduled to unfold on 14 and 15 March. The World Cup finals in ski jumping (the Planica Valley) will be held between 19 and 22 March.

Be among the first to take fans’ positions at the Golden Fox that will take place on 21 and 22 February on the Maribor Pohorje. Cheer for the best female slalom skiers and giant slalom skiers in the world. In 51 seasons, Slovenian female skiers have won three medals. One of them is Tina Maze, an ambassador of I Feel Slovenia brand, queen of snowy ski slopes and general winner of FIS Alpine Would Ski Championship in Vail/Beaver Creek in USA in February 2015. Join her fans at Maribor Pohorje and cheer for the queen of ski slopes and other foxy skiers! Did you know the first Golden Fox tittle was won by men? Initially both men and women participated in the competition, which was later taken over by female skiers.

The spectacle of female skiers is followed by a challenge for male skiers who will compete at the traditional Vitranc Cup in Kranjska Gora on 14 and 15 March. This is one of the toughest ski tracks of the International Ski Federation. Its steep slopes were tackled by skiers as far back as 1961 when the competition was considered the first great international event in skiing for men in the former Yugoslavia. That is also when the event was named – the Vitranc Cup. A special charm to the event contributes Kranjska Gora, which won a Ski Oscar, prestigious World Ski Award. The city excites skiers, who are accommodated in various hotels and apartments. Accommodation and ski slopes are separated only by “snowy beach”, where fun winter activities happen every day.

Complete with a cheering mood, we will proceed to Planica, which is hosting best ski jumpers. Watch the longest jumps and be part of the unforgettable sports atmosphere. You may set off to the Planica Valley in an even ‘greener’ way. Join a sustainable development project and catch a ride to the ski jumping arena by a special train or carpool.
