More arrivals recorded in March
Statistical data for March 2015 show a 6% increase in arrivals and 2% more overnight stays in accommodation facilities than in the same period in 2014. One-fifth of overnight stays were generated by tourists from Austria, while the highest number of tourists was recorded in municipalities with spa facilities. The number of arrivals to Slovenia in the first three months was 10% higher than in the same period of 2014. Some 10% more tourist arrivals were recorded in the first three months of 2015 than in the first three months of 2014. The number of arrivals in terms of domestic tourists grew by 8% and the number of arrivals of foreign tourists by 10%. The number of overnight stays by domestic and foreign tourists saw a 7% increase.

More foreign tourists in March 2015
In March 2015, Slovenian tourist accommodation facilities recorded 6% more tourist arrivals and 2% more overnight stays than in March 2014. The number of domestic tourists was 3% higher and thus the number of their overnight stays increased by 1%. Foreign guests generated 8% more arrivals and 3% more overnight stays than in March 2014.
Most overnight stays in municipalities with spa facilities
The majority of all overnight stays were recorded in municipalities with spa facilities, followed by mountain municipalities with 19% foreign guests, who generated 2% more overnight stays than in March 2014. Seaside municipalities generated 6% more overnight stays than in March 2014 and Ljubljana 11%, thus increasing the number of overnight stays by as much as 19%.
Tourists from Austria generated the most overnight stays
Foreign tourists generated 53% of overnight stays in March 2015. The majority of guests came from Austria (20%) who generated 29% more overnight stays; these were followed by guests from Italy (17%), Germany (10%), Croatia (8%) and Serbia (5%). Guests from Croatia and Serbia increased the number of overnight stays by 14% in comparison to 2014. Some 9% more German tourists stayed in Slovenia than in March 2014.
