Slovenia Feels EXPO

The Expo Milano 2015 world fair is in its full swing. Visit the Slovenian exhibition area and become part of the amazing atmosphere. Slovenia is represented by unique cuisine under the slogan: "Green. Active. Healthy." On 19th June, Milan will host the Slovenian National Day, which will be attended by country`s political leaders and feature a fantastic entertainment programme.

In the only country in the world with the word love in its name, which is the most beautiful of all emotions, the nature and people are practically calling you to visit. In a hospitable country where everything is at your arm`s reach, you can have breakfast in the capital, take a hike in the Alps and freshen up in the Mediterranean Sea in the evening, all in one day.

On 19th June, a very special event will take place at the Slovenian exhibition area, marking the Slovenian Statehood Day. The event will be attended by Slovenian Prime Minister Dr. Miro Cerar and Minister of Economic Development and Technology Zdravko Počivalšek. A press conference will be held at the Expo Milano Media Centre, followed by an evening art show and concert by a world-famous Slovenian vocal ensemble Perpetuum Jazzile. One day before, on 18th June, the Slovenian presentation at EXPO will host two sector delegations representing the agriculture and wood processing industries.

In late June, Expo Milano 2015 will host a presentation of the Savinja region, which is proudly surrounded by majestic mountains of the Kamnik-Savinja Alps. Their embrace protects the Logarska dolina Valley – one of the most beautiful glacial valleys in Europe. Together with the Robanov kot and Matkov kot valleys, the Logarska dolina Valley creates a harmony of three valleys called Solčavsko. In 2009, the destination was awarded the European Destination of Excellence title (EDEN). You can also experience a special beat in Celje, the centre of the region and former seat of Celje Counts, who were the most influential aristocratic family in Slovenia. High above the city at the Savinja river, rests the largest medieval castle in Slovenia. From its walls, picturesque views open towards the endless fields and hop yards. Hops are an important ingredient of beer, which has been brewed since 1825 in Laško, the 2013 EDEN Destination of Excellence. Come to be inspired!
