Arrivals of Domestic Tourists increased by 16% in April 2015

The data for April 2015 show that tourist arrivals have increased by 11% and overnight stays by 6% compared to the same period last year. The number of domestic tourist arrivals was up by 16% and the number of their overnight stays increased by 11%. The number of foreign tourist arrivals was up by 9% and the number of their overnight stays increased by 4%. The highest numbers in overnight stays were recorded at the health resort municipalities, with over 20% of foreign overnight stays realised by tourists from Italy and Austria.

The data for April 2015 show that tourist arrivals have increased by 11% and overnight stays by 6% compared to the same period last year. The number of foreign tourist arrivals was up by 9% and the number of their overnight stays increased by 4%. The highest numbers in overnight stays were recorded at the health resort municipalities, with over 20% of foreign overnight stays realised by tourists from Italy and Austria.


Highest number of overnight stays in health resort municipalities

In April 2015, the largest part of all overnight stays (35%) was realized in health resort municipalities. These were followed by coastal municipalities (22%), mountain municipalities, and the Municipality of Ljubljana.

Most overnight stays by Italian tourists

In April 2015, foreign tourists represented 63% of all overnight stays in Slovenia. The highest number of overnight stays was realised by tourists from Italy (22%), followed by Austrians (16%), Germans (10%), Croats and Serbs (5% each). The overnight stays of Italian tourists have increased by 3%, those of Serbian tourists by 15% and those of Croats by 25% compared to April 2014.

More arrivals of domestic and foreign tourists

In the first four months of 2015, the number of both domestic and foreign tourist arrivals was 10% higher than in the same period last year. In the first four months, records in arrivals of all tourists showed a 10% increase compared to the first four months of 2014. The total number of overnight stays was up by 7% (domestic tourists by 8%, foreign tourists by 6%).
