In Laško, the health power of mineral springs was known well in the period of the Romans. Through history, the town developed into one of the most modern centres of spa and wellness tourism. Visit the spa Thermana Laško. Its peculiarity is a glass dome which may be opened in the evening hours enabling a view of the sky filled with stars. A unique experience is the beer and honey wellness, deriving from the rich tradition of beer making and bee-keeping in the region. Treat yourself to a beer bath or enjoy the luxury of the honey wrappings.

The popular drink, beer, has been brewed in Laško Brewery ever since 1825. Take a tour of the brewery and finish the experience with a tasting of the beer and a visit of the Beer and Flowers Festival. Upon the 190th anniversary of Laško Brewery, the festival programme of this year has been taken particularly seriously. The organisers are preparing the most colourful international music festival ever! In its 50 year history, the festival featured more than 1000 music bands and ethnographic groups. Artists of this year’s programme include Natalia Imbruglia, the Europe band, the guitar player Stevie Salas Colorcode and others. It has become a tradition that every third weekend in July, Laško becomes the centre of Slovenia and the hub of lively summer events. Discover the beekeeping tradition, buried in the mystery of honey production, honey drinks and products of beeswax. Have a walk in the Garden of Honey Plants where plants are planted according to the chronology of their blooming. In addition to beekeeping, another one of the oldest crafts in Slovenia has been preserved in Laško, the making of licitars. Make your own sweet honey pastries - licitar. Decorate it with optional motifs and give it to your nearest and dearest as a gift or souvenir.

In the vicinity of Laško, there are convenient corners for hiking, biking, riding and paragliding. The hills and valleys there are intertwined by many paths which lead through forests across clearings and meadows. Go on a hike to the nearby Šmohor or Hum, popular destinations of the locals. Lay down on the soft grass and treat yourself with a picnic or a rest in the shadow under the trees.

The Sava and Savinja rivers are pleasant for fishing and rafting. Embark on a raft and row towards adventure. Once, there used to be a custom that the raft and the cargo were blessed for a safe voyage. As the raft today only carries tourists and visitors, maybe you can immerse one of the visitors for fun!
