In September 2015, Slovenia recorded 9% more tourist arrivals and 7 % more overnight stays in tourist accommodations compared to September 2014. Camping sites had increased their tourist overnight stays by 18% in the same period.

In September 2015 a tenth more foreign tourist arrivals
Compared to September 2014, in September 2015, 9% more tourist arrivals and 7% more overnight stays were registered in tourist accommodations. In the same comparison, the number of domestic tourist arrivals increased by 7% and the number of their overnight stays by 6%. The number of foreign tourist arrivals and their overnight stays increased by 10% and 7%, respectively.
A quarter of tourist overnight stays in health (spa) resorts
In September 2015, 25% of all tourist overnight stays were registered in health (spa) resorts, 24% in both seaside and mountain resorts, and 14% in municipality Ljubljana.
Compared to September 2014, a 14% increase in tourist overnight stays was recorded in municipality Ljubljana and an 11% increase in mountain resorts. Seaside resorts recorded 5% more tourist overnight stays and health (spa) resorts recorded 1% more tourist overnight stays over September 2014.
In camping sites 18% more tourist overnight stays
In September 2015, 64% of tourist overnight stays were recorded in hotels, 12% in camping sites, 5% each in rented rooms, dwellings and in apartment settlements. In camping sites the number of tourist overnight stays increased by 18% and in hotels by 3%.
A fifth more overnight stays of British tourists
In September 2015 foreign tourists generated 71% of tourist overnight stays in Slovenia. Key markets, from which came foreign tourists who generated the most overnight stays in Slovenia, were Germany (16%), Austria (13%), Italy (11%), the United Kingdom and Israel (5% each) and United States (4%).
In September 2015 tourists from the United Kingdom generated 20% more overnight stays, tourists from Germany 9% more and tourists from Italy 2% more, while tourists from Austria generated 3% fewer overnight stays than in September 2014.
12% more tourist arrivals in the first nine months
In the first nine months of this year, 12% more tourist arrivals were registered in tourist accommodations than in the same period of the previous year. The number of domestic tourist arrivals increased by 10% and that of foreign ones by 12%. In the same comparison tourists generated 8% more overnight stays (domestic 7% and foreign 9%).
