Biathlon World Cup in Pokljuka

The winter season kicks off with the biathlon. From 15 to 20 December 2015 Pokljuka will host the BMW IBU Biathlon World Cup. Biathlon competitors will test their bravery in sprint and pursuit. On the last day they will also compete with a group start. The low temperatures and the highly experienced maintenance team will ensure the best conditions for the competition, while the fast skis and steady hands of the athletes will make for a spectacular event. You can lend the competitors extra steam they need by cheering them on along the piste and in the central stadium.

Cross-Country Continental Cup at Planica

From 6 to 10 January 2016 Planica, which is more famous for its ski jumping competitions, will host the FIS Cross-Country Continental Cup. On the first day competitors will race in the qualifying sprints, followed in the afternoon by the final. The second day features a race in the classic technique, and on the last day athletes will compete in the skiathlon, with women racing over 15 kilometres and men covering 30 kilometres. You can cheer on your favourites in the valley below the Ponce mountains.

FIS Cross-Country World Cup at Planica

Just a week after the Continental Cup, Planica will once again host cross-country skiers. From 16 to 17 January 2016 it will be the venue for the FIS Cross-Country World Cup. Competitors will first race in the free technique, then in team free technique and sprint. It is this particular discipline that cross-country skiing enthusiasts are keenest to follow and support. This competition will have no shortage of top world cross-country skiers, including several Slovenians. You can help conjure up a real sports fan atmosphere for the competitors.
