Slovenian Health Resorts flourish

Green, active and healthy Slovenia is expecting a successful season for Slovenian natural spas. With a high number of domestic and foreign tourists, the spas have begun a promising year – a year of investments in infrastructure and services.

Slovenia has been richly blessed by nature, which forms the basis of the activity of 14 Slovenian natural health resorts and spas offering modern medical services, wellness treatments and a variety of programmes for health and beauty. The Association of Slovenian Spas and Health Resorts announced a promising year based on the spas’ occupancy rates at the beginning of the year. The index of arrivals of domestic and foreign guests reached 105.8, with the total index for overnight stays of 104.5. Arrivals of domestic and foreign tourists increased by 5.8% in January, while overnight stays increased by 4.5%.

Natural health resorts and spas are well aware that their favourable reputation is subject to constant endeavours to improve the quality of their services. Terme Čatež are adding their exclusive mobile and folding tents for luxurious camping, also known as Glamping, to their offer. Terme Dobrna is further expanding its diagnostic rehabilitation centre - Medical Dobrna. In Thermana Laško rooms are being renovated with special arrangements for disabled people. Terme Olimia and Terme Tuhelj are undergoing complete renovation of the exclusive Wellness Hotel Sotelia ****, the cost of which is estimated at 1 million EUR. Terme Zreče is focusing on empirically monitoring the effects of their treatments in order to provide an even faster recovery. Guests at Terme Krka will enjoy the rich wellness and active holiday programs as well as detoxification and weight loss programs. Sava Turizem is involved in several renovation projects, following high sustainability standards and enriching their overall offer with fresh and innovative content.
