Call for innovative ideas in Slovenian tourism

Slovenia has been working hard over the years to stimulate the creation of innovations in Slovenian tourism. The Slovenian Tourist Board (STB) is once again calling for proposals for the Snovalec (Creator) award – the program that recognises innovations in tourism. A grant of €15,000 will be awarded to the winning idea. Fresh ideas are gathered at the website www.btps.si, where all tender documentation, descriptions and business plans are also available.

Outstanding tourism products in Slovenian tourism make a visit to green, active and healthy Slovenia an unforgettable experience. From 2004 onwards, Slovenia has given the Sejalec award for innovations in Slovenian tourism, which are already-completed products. And from 2009, the Snovalec award selects ideas with the greatest potential, dedicating financial and promotional support to their successful conclusion.

Since the beginning of the project the Sejalec recipients have included the Celica Art Hostel in Ljubljana, the Thermal Riviera of Terme Čatež, the Cycling to Pannonian Spas package, the Kekec Homestead, Sloveniabike.com portal, Koper passenger terminal, the Eskimo Village on Krvavec, the Taste Slovenia Culinary Centre, Bohinj Park EKO Hotel, the Gastronomic treasures of Istria, GoOpti, VitaGen and Raduha House.

In 2015, the Snovalec Award was given to Footgolf in Bovec, a web application for photographers called SnappGuides, and the Escape from an Igloo experience. Innovations which contribute to greater recognisability for Slovenian tourists are an important aspect of the competitiveness of Slovenian tourism, so we are very excited to discover the new creative tourism products which will enrich the Slovenian tourism range this year.
