Slovenia announces the 3 flagship green events of 2016
Slovenia is celebrating its green character with three important green events: Slovenia Green award-giving ceremony, Global Green Destinations Day, Bled Strategic Forum.

Slovenia is celebrating its green character with three important green events. In March the Slovenian Tourist Board (STB) will award 16 destinations and 6 accommodations with the Slovenia Green label, as part of the Green Scheme program. In September, tourism and sustainability experts will meet at the Bled Strategic Forum for the Tourism Panel, covering the topic "Security and Sustainability in Tourism". The same month, Slovenia is looking to be all green with the Global Green Destinations Day event, bringing together the world`s leading sustainable destinations.
In an attempt to ensure that its green and sustainable strategy is part of all its activities, the Slovenian Tourist Board (STB) has formed the Green Scheme of Slovenian tourism, which brings together efforts to promote sustainable development in destinations and tourism providers. The system belongs to the umbrella of the SLOVENIA GREEN label, and today includes 16 destinations and 6 tourism providers honouring the SLOVENIA GREEN label, which are:

Green topics will be also discussed at the Bled Strategic Forum, where prominent guests from Europe gather annually to discuss the most pressing issues of today’s Europe and the world. This year’s topic “The Security of the Future” will also be covered at the Tourism Panel on 6th September. Following the panels theme of, "Security and Sustainability in Tourism", tourism and sustainability expertswill attempt to answer questions about global security challenges and climate change.
In the light of Ljubljana being the European Green Capital 2016, another flagship green event, the Global Green Destinations Day, will take place on 7–8th September 2016 in Ljubljana.
