New cycling trail along Soča river

Green, active and healthy Slovenia is enriched by a new cycling trail connecting Solkan and Plave in the west of Slovenia. One of the most picturesque trails, it is 9270km long and runs alongside the beautiful emerald river Soča and the historical Bohinj Railway which is celebrating 110 years of history.

One of the most picturesque trails, it is 9270km long and runs alongside the beautiful emerald river Soča and the historical Bohinj Railway which is celebrating 110 years of history. On the two-way cycling trail, you can stop and recuperate at 7 resting places. The project began in 2013 and was partially financed with the help of European funds. The trail is part of the cycling connection Nova Gorica-Predel.

The smell of the soft green herbs and the salt stretches as far as the Idrija and Cerkno forests and hills. At 35 cycling information points cyclists can get all the necessary information regarding routes, transportation between individual cycling destinations, and specialised accommodation facilities. Whether you are searching for a challenging cycling experience or an easy-going cycling trip, Slovenia is an ideal choice.
