Ana Roš – star of a Netflix documentary show

Chef’s Table is an American documentary show from Netflix productions. Each episode presents a portrait of a world-renowned chef. The new season will showcase the Slovenian chef Ana Roš from Hiša Franko. This new step in Ana’s career is strengthening her reputation as one of the world’s best chefs.

Ana Roš is the queen of innovative Slovenian and world cuisine. Her dishes are like gardens of flavours – just like the one you will find at Hiša Franko, run by Ana and her partner, Valter Kramar, an exceptional connoisseur of wines and cheeses. Ana was awarded the title Talent of the Year 2015 by the Jeunes Restaurateurs d`Europe Association, and is now starring in an episode of Netflix’s documentary show Chef’s Table, which presents the personal profiles of the world’s most renowned chefs. It is another remarkable achievement for the Slovenian chef; she is already a member of Gelinaz! Shuffle, a collective of global cutting-edge chefs, she was a member of the team of elite chefs at the Restaurant Ikarus at Hangar 7 in Salzburg, whose owner is Red Bull, and she was the first female chef to participate in the cooking/environmental project Cook It Raw.

The filming of the episode of Chef’s Table took place at Hiša Franko in September 2015. “The team was big, around 15 people, and because everything was last-minute, it was hard to find accommodation for them. To show them the environment, we placed them around Tolmin, and I believe we had a great time for those 14 days,” explained Ana. She is a global trendsetter and an avid supporter of fresh, local and traditional ingredients. Her cuisine includes crops from her own garden, fresh fish from the local rivers, seasonal forest fruits and many others from nature’s gifts from the land among the emerald river Soča and the Alps.

One of the producers of Chef’s Table is David Geld, a director of the culinary bestseller documentary Jiro Dreams of Sushi. A visually stunning series, each episode is dedicated to the lifestyle, philosophy and environment of the chef, and is interesting for both the professional and the amateur public. The producers are excited that this time two female chefs will be presented.
