After successful ITB, Slovenia is preparing for MITT Moscow

Green, active and healthy Slovenia is being presented as a tourist destination at several international fairs. This year’s presentation focuses on Healthy Waters and Slovenian Natural Spas. The Slovenian Tourist Board is proud of its presentation at ITB Berlin and is already preparing for its presentation at the international MITT Moscow 2016 Tourism Exchange in Russia (Moscow International Travel and Tourism). Moscow’s fair is one of the most important tourism industry events in northern Europe and Russia.

ITB Berlin is one of the world’s leading Travel Trade Shows. Under the auspices of the Slovenian Tourist Board, almost 30 Slovenian companies were represented at the Slovenian stand. In Berlin, Slovenia received the prestigious PATWA Award for the Best Emerging Destination, which was presented to the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology of the Republic Slovenia by the Secretary-General of the World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO). Take a look at the highlights from the stand in the Feel Slovenia at ITB Berlin 2016 video.

Tourism Ljubljana focused the visit to Berlin on the presentation and promotion of Ljubljana, the European Green Capital 2016: “The visitors were interested in the meaning of the title European Green Capital 2016, culinary, culture and sport.”

Sava Tourism and Sava Hotels & Resorts are expecting more German visitors in the upcoming seasons: “There is a lot of interest in Slovenia and the Sava spa as well as in hotels in Bled. We are expecting an increase in German guests in the autumn and during next year.”

“I am pleased to emphasise the great cooperation and coordination of the key players in Slovenian tourism” commented Dimitrij Piciga, the CEO of HIT Group. They were in charge of a demonstration of activities from western Slovenia and for catering a reception by the Slovenian Tourist Boards for their business partners and key decision makers in German tourism. HIT Group also presented the new glacial wellness centre in Kranjska Gora.

The Slovenian Tourist Board is already preparing for its presentation at the MITT Moscow 2016 fair, taking place from 23rd to 26th March 2016. The Russian market is one of the key markets for Slovenian tourism and Russian tourists generated 3.4% of all overnight stays in Slovenia in 2015, mostly in health resorts and spas.
