Slovenia at MITT Moscow and Seatrade Miami

Between 23rd and 26th March 2016, Slovenia is being presented at the MITT Moscow 2016 in Russia. At one of the most important tourism industry events in Russia and the Baltic states, Slovenia is being presented with the main theme of Healthy Waters. You are welcome to visit the Slovenian exhibition stand, C220, at an excellent location in Pavilion 2, Hall 2. Rich with beneficial waters, Slovenia is also proud of its seaside and tourism on the coast. The Slovenian Tourist Board (STB) has also concluded another successful presentation at the most recognisable and important world tourism fair in the area of ship tourism, Seatrade Miami in the USA.

The international MITT Moscow 2016 (Moscow International Travel and Tourism) tourism fair is the largest and oldest Tourism Exchange Fair in Russia, marking the start of the spring-summer tourist season. Through its activities on the Russian market, the Slovenian Tourist Board is following its goal of positioning Slovenia as a recognisable, attractive and competitive destination for health and wellbeing. Russian tourists appreciate and search for destinations that are unique and offer a wide range of tourist products: from wellness and retreats at natural spas to exquisite cuisine and selected shopping opportunities. Slovenia’s presentation is focused on Healthy Waters and the range of Slovenian natural spas, since the highest number of Russian overnight stays in Slovenia are generated by Slovenian health and spa resorts.

Across the Atlantic Ocean, Slovenia concluded a successful presentation at the Seatrade Miami fair for ship and cruise ship tourism. Representatives of the Slovenian Tourist Board (STB), the Municipality of Koper, the Port of Koper and the travel agency Atlas Express have attended the fair 11 years in a row, while this year the delegation also included the Municipality of Piran, where they expect 25 cruise ship arrivals this year. The presentation of the port, local communities and the STB together combined their knowledge of different and interdependent areas for promoting Slovenia as a tourist destination. The trade fair hosted elite representatives from nautical tourism: ports, tour operators, cruise ship agencies, representatives of local and national tourist associations and many others.
