22nd March is World Water Day, which reminds us of the importance of water. Slovenia is rich in water; almost 30,000 watercourses provide freshness throughout the year and fill up our lakes, rivers and streams. The underground world cherishes almost 100 natural and mineral water springs, which are captured on the surface at Slovenian natural health and spa resorts. Experience the beneficial effects of Healthy Waters at the Slovenian natural spas, surrounded by unspoilt green nature, and enjoy the story of The Healing Waters – Secrets of Healthy Retreats in Slovenia.

The Slovenian Tourist Board is proud of the rich Slovenian water sources in terms of quantity, quality and diversity. With sustainable development, Slovenia is increasingly gaining in visibility as a green, active and healthy tourist destination.

Slovenian natural spas have been closely linked with the lifestyle of the local people from their beginning – some have a centuries-old tradition. Together with the beautiful surrounding landscape and natural environment, Slovenian natural health and spa resorts are the perfect getaway for body and soul while offering an authentic local experience.

Maja Pak, the Acting Director of the Slovenian Tourist Board, commented: “Communicating the theme of Healthy Waters is in accordance with the unique specialities of thermal and mineral waters at the Slovenian natural spas, as well as with sustainable development and accessible drinking water. We have already presented Slovenian waters at tourist fairs in Belgrade and Berlin, and now we are in Moscow.”

Iztok Altbauer, Director of the Slovenian natural spas added: “The foundation of our products at the Slovenian natural spas is our rich natural thermal and mineral water sources, with their proven beneficial effects and other natural healing factors. Let World Water Day be an opportunity for everyone to be aware of the importance of water.”
