Renovated hotels of Postojna Cave and the HIT Group

The year 2016 is one of investments, renovations and openings in Slovenian tourism. The HIT Group is planning a renovation of the Hotel Mond at Šentilj, on the border crossing with Austria, north of Maribor, while Postojna Cave will re-open the completely renovated Hotel Jama, located next to the most visited tourist attraction in Slovenia.

In spring 2016, Postojna cave is re-opening the Hotel Jama, which has 80 rooms. The hotel is located next to the most visited tourist cave in Europe, which is waiting for a batch of newly-born baby “dragons”. The Postojna Cave Park is listed among the finalists for the prestigious European Business Awards, which identifies successful European companies and raises awareness of good business practice. The competition started with over 32,000 companies and is now in the final round. The winner will be selected partly through public voting, which is open until 26th April.

If you are touched by the beauty of the underground karst world, which is only an hour’s drive from the capital, Ljubljana, you will be even more amazed by the friendly people and green landscape, full of vineyards, in Slovenian Styria in northeast Slovenia. It is not a coincidence that the new Hotel Mond at the Šentilj border crossing with Austria will surprise with its “Wine & Spa” offer, interwoven with the surrounding natural beauty of the local environment, offering a selection of top quality local wines. The investor, the HIT Group, a well-known Slovenian hotel chain, presented the details of the €5 million project to rebuild the Hotel Mond, which will begin operating in about 9 months.

”To achieve further successful results, it is necessary to strengthen the competitiveness of the Slovenian tourism industry and promote the upgrading of quality and diversity. Increasing the competitiveness of Slovenian tourism is also one of the key objectives in the new Slovenian tourism development strategy 2017-2021,” comments Zdravko Počivalšek, the Minister of Economic Development and Technology.
