The Slovenian Tourist Board is celebrating its 20-year anniversary. Today, on 1 April, Maja Pak was named Director of the Slovenian Tourist Board for a period of 5 years, until 2021.

The Slovenian Tourist Board is celebrating its 20-year anniversary. It works as an independent organisation carrying out the tasks of the national Tourist Board, primarily the promotion of Slovenia as a tourist destination on foreign markets. Today, on 1 April, Maja Pak was named Director of the Slovenian Tourist Board for a period of 5 years, until 2021.

After eight months of holding the office of Acting Director, Maja Pak, MSc., was today appointed the Director of the Slovenian Tourist Board, Public Agency for the marketing and promotion of tourism in the Republic of Slovenia. “Thanks to my colleagues and all partners, in the past few months we carried out all the activities that were set as a priority at the time when Slovenian Tourist Board was founded” Maja Pak, M.Sc., said at the appointment. “We reorganized Slovenian Tourist Board in accordance with modern marketing trends and new contents, we successfully carried out numerous presentations to journalists, tour operators and general public abroad, and in cooperation with the economy sector, we prepared a two-year marketing program for Slovenian tourism, which is ambitious and is, in line with trends, focused on both digital marketing and the most promising markets.“

The activities of the Slovenian Tourist Board in the next two years will be mainly focused on increasing the recognisability of Slovenia as a green, active, healthy, sustainability-oriented tourist destination, promoting innovative products and stories of Slovenian tourism through major digital campaigns on key European markets, which is already starting this month. “We will intensify our communication activities with foreign business communities. We are preparing a new, modern web portal www.slovenia.info and we are increasing communication through social media. At the same time, it will also be necessary to strategically develop new markets. We will face many challenges in the following period. It is important to work closely with industry and key stakeholders in tourism when planning and implementing marketing activities,” Maja Pak, M.Sc., added.
