“The medieval town of Piran, with its Venetian architecture, is one of the most picturesque towns in Slovenia, and was developed due to the salt trade. In the past, at the beginning of summer entire families moved to the saltpans,” is how Piran is described in the Slovenian Story of Salty Love. The spring holidays at the end of April brought many visitors to the Slovenian coastline, and Piran recorded 21,000 overnight stays. Domestic guests generated 25% more overnight stays than in the same period last year. On average, hotels were 85% occupied.
