Tourism trends are increasingly leaning towards long-term sustainable development, and they are being followed by some tourist accommodation providers, who are supplementing and developing their usual offer for their guests. One of them is the renovated homestead Pr`Gavedarjo in the village of Podkoren near Kranjska Gora in north-west Slovenia. In May, the accommodation received a prestigious award: a certificate of Travelife Sustainable Development in Tourism.
The homestead Pr`Gavedarjo was the second accommodation in Slovenia to receive the prestigious Travelife for Hotels & Accommodation Gold Certification. The homestead near Kranjska Gora has been in the family for over 100 years. From its very beginning, the vision and purpose of the accommodation has been focused on preserving the local cultural heritage and sustainable development. Each room has its own story to tell, about cosiness and comfort, linked to the visual perfection of the living space and Slovenian traditions.
Travelife is an internationally recognised scheme that promotes sustainable operations in the field of tourism. It is designed to help hotels and other accommodation to manage and monitor their impact on society and the environment, and communicate their achievements to their guests.
