Within the framework of the International Wildflower Festival in Bohinj, which is taking place from 21st May to 5th June 2016, the organisers hosted a professional conference “How to communicate individual (small) destinations and regional destination brands as a part of the marketing concept of Slovenian tourism”. Besides the educational programmes, visit Bohinj and the Festival for organised tours and cultural programmes.

The International Wildflower Festival in Bohinj in known for the presentation of the exceptional flora which has been attracting the attention of botanical experts and the admiration of lovers of unspoilt nature for a long time. Since the beginning of the scientific study of Slovenian flora, the mountains above Bohinj have been considered a true treasury of Alpine flowers. The days of the festival revolve around events related to floral themes, organised hiking tours, cultural events and thematic workshops.

The professional program of the 10th International Wildflower Festival in Bohinj was also dedicated to the conference “How to communicate individual (small) destinations and regional destination brands as a part of the marketing concept of Slovenian tourism”, which took place on 23rd May. It focused on the presentation of the hierarchy and cooperation of the destination brands used around the area of the Julian Alps. The participants also attended an interpretative workshop about storytelling. Did you know that Bohinj lies in the Kingdom of Zlatorog (the Goldenhorn) and is also the setting for the Slovenian Story of Alpine Peaks and Tales?
