Due to an increased number of weekly flights from Ljubljana to Istanbul, Turkish Airlines has opened its own office in Ljubljana, the European Green Capital 2016, after operating at Ljubljana airport terminal. During the summer months, the number of Ljubljana-Istanbul flights will be increased to two per day.

The new office is located in the city centre in the former Café Europa. The Mayor of Ljubljana, Zoran Janković, who has just returned from Istanbul, hopes that visas for Turkish citizens will be abolished by the autumn. If this really happens, Karmen Novarlič, Head of Communications with the business public at the Slovenian Tourist Board, predicts an immediate 20-30% increase in traffic between the two countries.

Turkish Airlines is also a strategic partner in the joint appearance of the Croatian and Slovenian tourism economy in distant markets, particularly in the Far East.

Even before the issue of visas is resolved, Turkish Airlines will fly twice a day, every day of the week, between Ljubljana and Istanbul. The number of passengers between the cities is rising each year and will rise even more after the increased connection between these two beautiful capitals.
