The Alpe Adria Trail is a long distance hiking trail connecting Austrian Carinthia, Slovenia and the Italian region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia. In June, the German version of the National Geographic Traveller wrote about the adventures you can experience along the way. The trail is a reflection of a successful cooperation of the three countries and promotes an active lifestyle.

Hiking is one of the most relaxing ways to experience the nature and heritage of our country. The German edition of the National Geographic Traveller prepared a list of the most beautiful trails on four continents and set the Alpe Adria Trail among them.

The Alpe Adria Trail is an international hiking path that connects three countries and cultures. The trail leads from the highest mountain in Austria, through green, active and healthy Slovenia to the Adriatic Sea in Italy. Of almost 700 kilometres of the trail, 145km runs through the western part of Slovenia, connecting Kranjska Gora, Bovec, Tolmin, Brda and Lipica.

For easier orientation, one of the leading British publishers of tourist guides, the Bradt Guide, has published the first tourist guide to the Alpe Adria trail in English. The main coordinator of the project was Slovenia, which will organise presentations and talk shows about the guide in London bookshops and specialised study tours for British journalists to green, active and healthy Slovenia and the Alpe Adria Trail.
