The Posavje Hills are the most picturesque area near Laško. The green network of well marked trails invites to be explored. The famous tradition of lect (type of coloured ginger bread) is still preserved around here.

Summer is the time of beer and flowers

The town located at the Savinja river traditionally dances to the rhythms of the largest beer festival in Slovenia called the Beer and Flowers Festival (Pivo in cvetje). Last year, the rich and interesting cultural programme attracted over 130 thousand visitors from around the world. This year, the festival programme is even more diversified. The rich cultural and ethnographic heritage of Laško plays an important role in the three days of the summer festival. The town streets come alive due to the typical rural sceneries, and the festival`s hustle and bustle is created by the brass band, majorettes and drum groups. Of course, there is no shortage of good music, beer and flowers, ever!
