The best of summer in Ljubljana

Local Slovenian Blog In Your Pocket marked the beginning of the summer season with the annual Best of Summer in Ljubljana poll. It lasted from 10th May until 11th June and was divided into 9 different categories. The 2016 competition included the best summertime attractions and activities, multiple categories for the best terraces (namely restaurant, café and bar/pub), as well as the sweetest category - the best ice cream in town.

New categories also focused on the best tours around Ljubljana, the European Green Capital 2016, and the best locations for taking selfies and sharing them on social media pages. The competition took a closer look at the best concerts in the Slovenian capital until September. Each category winner received a plaque and a sticker with the name of the Best of Summer in Ljubljana 2016, which you can follow around the city.

* Tour: Ljubljana Free Tour, Ljubljana Graffiti Tour, Ljubljananjam food & drinks walks

* Selfie Spot: Nebotičnik (Skyscraper), Ljubljana Castle, Odprta Kuhna (Open Kitchen)

* Ice Cream: Cacao, Vigò, Zvezda

* Restaurant Terrace: Livada, Shambala, Druga Violina

* Café Terrace: Slovenska Hiša, Cacao, Nebotičnik (Skyscraper)

* Bar/Pub Terrace: Žmauc, Centralna Postaja, Cutty Sark

* Concert: Siddharta, S.A.R.S., Bijelo Dugme
